Andrew told us that Stage, which has been in business for the past 35 years, was served eviction papers by its landlord, who has maliciously and falsely accused Stage of engaging in siphoning of gas. You can see a full statement about the allegations and their response to it on their Facebook page:

We told Andrew that we are a big fan of Stage and love their food and Andrew told us that he is also a big fan of our photography and loves our book, "Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York" which has a photo of Stage taken in 2001 with its original hand-painted sign.
