La Caridad 78, the Cuban-Chinese restaurant on Broadway in the Upper West Side of Manhattan has sadly closed after more than 50 years in business.

Raphael Lee, a Chinese man who had grown up in Cuba 🇨🇺opened this fusion restaurant in 1968. Much of the food was a mix of Chinese and Cuban cooking 🥘 including dishes of fried rice with plantains, Cuban-style roast pork with rice and yucca and pepper steak with black beans and rice. The restaurant was even referenced in an episode of Seinfeld.
