Last night before the clouds rolled into NYC we were able to see a portion of the lunar eclipse and our thoughts immediately went to the long-departed Moondance Diner on Sixth Avenue in SoHo, NYC. Moondance Diner opened in 1933 and closed in 2007 when the property it was located in was sold to a developer and a boutique hotel was built on the site.
The Moondance with its iconic rotating crescent moon signage was not demolished and instead was purchased by a couple who transported it to Wyoming (at a cost of $40,000) and after renovation was reopened as a diner. Sadly, the diner closed in 2012 due to an economic downturn in Wyoming.
We are not sure what has become of it now so if you have an update please let us know!
