CBGB was founded by Hilly Kristal in 1973 on the Bowery in the East Village and is known as the birthplace of the American #punkrock movement giving groups such as Television, the Ramones, @ramones Patti Smith, and Blondie @blondieofficial their start.

This iconic #club lost its lease and closed in 2006. We feature and visit the John Varvatos Store which took over the former home of CBGB in our latest YouTube video: EAST VILLAGE STREET FOOD & PUNK.
