The United Palace in Washington Heights was originally known as the Loew’s 175th Street Theater and was one of the five magnificent Wonder Theatres in the NYC area. It was designed by architect Thomas W. Lamb and completed in 1930. This “Cambodian neo-classical” landmark theater 🎭 closed in 1969 and was purchased by the church and congregation of televangelist Reverend Ike, whose family still owns it today. The United Palace spiritual center continues to offer Sunday services and functions as both a spiritual center and arts center.
