The Miss Portland Diner on Marginal Way in Portland, Maine has been in business since 1949. It is a gorgeous example of an unaltered Worcester Lunch Car Company diner car (WLCC car number 818). Even though it has been moved a few times to different locations in Portland, it still looks like it did back in 1949 after being lovingly restored by owners Tom and Stefanie Manning, who worked with the local historic preservation department to ensure “what was old can be new again.” It even made an appearance in Mel Gibson’s movie “Man Without a Face.” We absolutely fell in love with it and can’t wait to return to visit it again.
