Sadly, we just learned that Paul Georgoulakos, the co-owner of Gregory & Paul’s passed away on Monday at the age of 89.

Our hearts go out to his family 🙏. 

We photographed Gregory & Paul’s Restaurant on the Boardwalk in Coney Island (2005) for our book “Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York”. We loved all of the #handpainted signage on this restaurant as well as the Astroland rocket on the roof. Gregory & Paul’s closed in 2009 (and the rocket was removed from the roof in 2008) but the restaurant location was reopened as Paul’s Daughter with Paul and his daughter Tina in charge.
