First Avenue Pierogi & Deli in the East Village was in business for 30 years before it closed in 2014.
Unlike many other mom-and-pop #storefront closings, this Ukrainian business did not close due to a rent increase but instead because the owner Wieslawa Kurowycky who also owns the building, decided to retire. We miss buying their delicious #pierogi and blintzes and homemade soups including an incredible vegetarian cabbage 🥬 soup.
