We are excited to invite all of our friends and followers who grew up or currently live in NYC, to dig into their archives and join us in telling the story of our city!

For the entire month of June, our friends at @urbanarchiveny are collecting personal histories and photographs of New Yorkers captured on city streets across the five boroughs. The above 12 photos are our #analog 35mm photos and taken between 2001-2004 and appear in our book “Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York”.

• Submissions will be accepted between June 1 and June 28. All photographs that meet the selection criteria listed below will be added to their permanent, citywide archival collection. •

• We will be selecting the photos to highlight in Urban Archive along with the rest of the esteemed panel including @debimazar @jakedobkin Dave Ortiz and Michelle and James Nevius. We and the rest of the panel will also pick 25 stories from the submission pool to highlight in Urban Archive and feature on LinkNYC kiosks in proximity to where the photographs were originally taken. Selected submissions will be announced on July 12, 2019.

SELECTION CRITERIA AND PROCESS: The call is open to anyone with a story to share but @urbanarchiveny are most interested in photographs that were taken in NYC before the year 2005. All photographs submitted must have been taken on a city street and/or in front of a building that can potentially be identified within the five boroughs. Each photo must also include at least one human subject. You must retain all rights in any photograph you submit.

To read more about this project and to join in on their BYOP(hotos) scan night this Thursday June20th from 7pm at 155 Rivington Street please visit:  https://www.urbanarchive.nyc/myarchive/
