There are 36 candy-colored Lifeguard Towers dotting the coastline of Miami Beach from the tip of South Beach all the way up to 87th Street.

These unique Art Deco towers started popping up after Hurricane Andrew hit Miami Beach in the early 1990s. The first towers were designed and built by Architect William Lane and many more were built as a result of design competitions. In our latest livestream YouTube video, we walk with our dog Hudson along the Beach Walk in Miami Beach and make frequent stops to walk on the sand and see the iconic Lifeguard Towers and the sunbathers.
