Frank’s Sport Shop in the Bronx has been in business since 1922

Frank’s Sport Shop in the Bronx has been in business since 1922 & has an amazing #neon sign which was installed in 1949.

Frank’s Sport Shop, a family-owned small business, has recently been in the news because Nike corporation sent an email to the 2nd-generation owner, Moe Stein of its decision to exit a partnership dating back 5 decades as it “no longer aligns with our distribution policy”.

Although @frankssports is NOT in danger of closing despite the slap in the face by Nike, there is a petition you can sign at Change.org to tell Nike that if they abandon small local businesses, we will abandon them.

• WE ALSO NEED YOUR SUPPORT to SAVE another historic NEON SIGN at the Palomba Academy of Music in the Bronx which has been forced to close after 64 years in business due to the Coronavirus shutdown. (Swipe left for 2nd photo of Palomba’s #storefront and neon sign).

• We launched a KICKSTARTER campaign “SAVING A HISTORIC NEON SIGN IN NYC” to help fund our short film, which documents our journey to help save the historic neon signage at Palomba Academy of Music. In our short film, we will interview the 2nd-generation owner, Michael Palomba, about the joys and stuggles of operating a family-owned music shop and school and why he was forced to close his historic business due to the Coronavirus shutdown.

• To hear more about our Kickstarter campaign (which ends in less than 3 days) and the rewards you can receive if you back our project including copies of our STORE FRONT books and signed prints, please visit our link below or in bio and IG story: http://kck.st/33J4CRY
