Face Records NYC is one of the most hyper-specialized vinyl record shops in New York City. Located on Borinquen Place, it sells a curated selection of rare secondhand and sought after titles by Japanese artists including Masayoshi Takanaka, Tatsuro Yamashita and Miho Fujiwara as well as Japanese pressings of jazz, rock, city,pop, soul, funk, hip-hop and anime soundtracks, often featuring obi strips. Shinichi Takei @shinichi_takei opened this Brooklyn storefront in 2018 but its roots trace back to 1994 in Kanagawa, Japan. Yu Mamiya, @yumamiyavrp, a Japanese beat maker who manages the shop updates the stock regularly with new arrivals from Japan.
