When we heard that NASA landed a new robotic rover called Perseverance on Mars on Thursday to directly study whether there was ever life on the red planet, our thoughts immediately went to the departed Mars Bar in the East Village.

This iconic #divebar sadly was forced to close in 2011 and was demolished to make way for a new hi-rise luxury rental building. Here is to discovering new things and remembering the old.
