La Parisienne is a second-generation family owned business that opened in 1950. The owner told us that his father founded the #restaurant "after having worked in the same location when it was just a small #Greek coffee shop. He renamed it La Parisienne in 1964 because he just liked the name. The menu was never #French, but typical American fare." The gorgeous #neon sign with its unique #font is original from 1964. Photo and full interview with owner Jimmy Papageorge appear in our book "New York Nights".
