Many small businesses are extremely patriotic ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ including this family-owned #pasta business in the Bronx.

Riviera Ravioli was founded in 1946 and when we took this film photo in 2005 for our book, “Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York” and spoke with the 2nd-generation owner Joseph Giordano, he told us that his father-in-law founded the shop after moving from the Italian Riviera ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น near Monte Carlo, when World War II ended. Everything including all pastas and sauces were made on the premises, fresh daily.

  1. His father in law was Frank Baglietto. Wonderful people. My company sold them their pasta machinery many years ago!
