Tony Garofalo who first began working at this old-school Barber shop in 1964 after arriving from Italy 🇮🇹has decided to finally retire and close his shop. We originally photographed this 💈gorgeous #storefront with its handpainted #signage in 2006 for our book, “Store Front: The Disappearing Face of New York” and also had the chance to watch Tony at work ✂️. We wish him the best and will always remember watching him cut the hair of a youngster whose father also was a long-time customer of Tony. Prints of this barbershop are available if anyone is interested please DM or email us
